The Blame Game: Manny Pacquiao's "gay-bashing" controversy

The latest brouhaha over comments attributed to Manny Pacquiao about him saying that "All Gay Men Should Be Killed"by some irresponsible 'journalists' shows us a picture of how 'journalism' works nowadays.

In this Internet-driven age, we come across a lot of journalists spouting journalism gobbledygooks to high heavens in order to separate them, the so-called 'real journalists,' from mere "bloggers," who they feel are not at their level. They would pontificate of how they are made of better stuff compared to 'anybody who has an Internet connection' wannabes writing for any search-engine optimizing outlets like Examiner, the Huffington Post and the like.

But the Internet is the great equalizer, and many so-called part-time journalists and bloggers are actually giving these so-called 'professional journalists' a run for their money, much to the networks' (and the giant outlets/publications that employ them) chagrin.
