Canelo Alvarez retains WBO belt, pummels Cintron into submission

In Mexico City, Mexico, WBC junior middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez pummeled Kermit Cintron into submission to win and retain his belt inside the distance for his third title defense.

Canelo, who is still undefeated, punished the listless Cintron from the opening bell with power shots until the referee showed mercy on the Puerto Rican fighter and ended the carnage in the 5th round via TKO. The fight was good when it lasted, even though it was a one-sided affair in favor of the Mexican.

"Kermit Cintron is a certified lemon and hopefully he hangs up before he gets himself hurt down the line", Carlos of Ecorse opined upon seeing his fellow Puerto Rican being stopped by the Mexican champion.
